Wacky Races 2010 - rules and entry form
The Wacky Races version of the FIA F1 World Championship 2010
Supporting the Children-in-Need charity
Ladies & Gentlemen,
It’s nearly time once again to compete in our unique version of the FIA F1 world championship using our own wacky rules and we need your support…and of course we aim to give you a bit of enjoyment along the way.
Although there is money involved (a small amount), the underlying premise of the Wacky Races is to have a bit of fun! If you take it too seriously you might be black flagged or fined by the Wacky Officials!
The decisions of the Wacky Officials are final…but all bribes (large denomination currency please) and donations received will go to our charity – Children in Need.
Half of the entry fees go to our charity – Children in Need. The remainder is divided between the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place team owners.
Depending upon what we find whilst clearing out our cupboards there may be prizes for other positions…wait and see!
Note - Wacky Officials who enter their own teams are treated just like any other team.
1. Entering a Team:
You can have as many teams as you like, but each team costs £3 pounds (or €4 euros). Where possible please pay your entry fee using cash...Wacky races will black flag teams that have failed to pay by the third race, so please specify how you intend to pay your entry fee.
All entries must be submitted by email to a Wacky Official by the 13th March using the attached proforma before qualifying starts at 11:00 UK / 12:00 CET).
2. The rules:
All correspondence must be via email to the wacky management.
Prior to the first race – ie. the Thursday before the first race:
Each team owner must have chosen his Race Team drivers, Joker Race Weekend, Rest Day Weekend and David Coulthard Memorial Team drivers.
Race Team
You must pick 5 drivers from the list in Section 7 below.
You start with 0 pts for the Race Team.
No - you can’t have the same driver two or more times.
The David Coulthard Memorial Team
This team is a separate team from your main Race Team…so for example you could have Robert Kubica in both teams.
No - you can’t have the same driver two or more times.
Drivers are fixed for the whole season and can’t be changed.
Choose a race that will be your JOKER race where you score double points…yes, the Joker doubles any NEGATIVE points you received!
The JOKER applies to both qualifying and race positions.
Choose a race that will be your REST DAY race where you score zero points!
The REST DAY applies to both qualifying and race positions.
The David Coulthard Memorial Team only applies to the race, not qualifying…and the points are not added to the mail team score.
During the season – i.e. after the first race finishes:
You must make at least one driver change or you will be deducted 10pts at the end of the season.
You can make any number of driver changes during the season. The first change is free…subsequent changes cost 2 points cumulative (i.e. 2, 4, 6, 8, 10) capped at 10pts.
You cannot make a driver change once the Race Meeting has begun (ie. Thursday – Sunday).
Make sure you send an email to the Wacky Races Officials with your desired changes before the qualifying session begins.
If a driver eliminates himself from the race weekend, for example by breaking a leg, your team runs with one driver less even if a replacement driver races at the Race weekend. You bought a person not a seat from a real team in the Wacky Races.
If a driver is replaced in one of the real teams for whatever reason (e.g. by breaking a leg, or being dropped from the team altogether), your team runs with one less driver even if a replacement driver races at the Race weekend(s). You bought a person not a seat from a real team in the Wacky Races.
NOTE: For long term driver lineup changes in a real team it is up to the affected Wacky Races Team Owner(s) to notify the wacky management of the change to their driver lineup …you buy a person not a seat from a real team in the Wacky Races.
3. Scoring:
Points are awarded for both qualifying and race positions. These positions are as reported by the FIA F1 organizers on the day via the official F1 website.
